We are excited to launch Progressive Brookline, a new chapter of Progressive Mass.
We are excited to launch Progressive Brookline, a new chapter of Progressive Mass.
Progressive Brookline is a townwide, member-driven grassroots organization. We are committed to fighting for a vision of diversity, shared prosperity, racial and social justice, good government and strong democracy, and environmental sustainability in Brookline.
Progressive Brookline aims to be an inclusive organization, welcoming anyone interested in participating in progressive issues in any form.
Please join us in supporting progressive change in Brookline and Massachusetts. You can partner with us by getting involved in our chapter, attending our meetings, or donating to support this work!
Acting as the Brookline-affiliate of Progressive Mass, Progressive Brookline intends to transform Brookline into a bold laboratory for progressive town initiatives and foster an open and inclusive political environment.
Informed by our progressive platform and input from our members, we provide tools to help individuals run for elected office, initiate and pass legislation, hold local elected officials accountable, and lobby Brookline Town Meeting and Select Board members on critical progressive issues. We will also work with the broader Progressive Mass coalition to address statewide advocacy efforts.
A primary way a government reflects the values of its residents is through community participation in elections. Progressive Brookline aims to increase voter registration and participation, particularly in local elections, which have historically had low voter turnout.
We aim to demystify the legislative process and identify how progressives can effectively intervene to advance our shared vision in Brookline.
We are a chapter of Progressive Mass and part of a vibrant community of progressive activism.
Progressive Brookline is led by a seven-person board, currently co-chaired by Kevin MacKenzie (TMM P13) and Faye Miller. The board also consists of Sarah Moghtader (TMM P1, School Committee), Alec Lebovitz (TMM P8, Advisory Committee), Margaret Robotham (TMM P3, Advisory Committee), Miriam Aschkenasy (former Select Board, former TMM P13), and Bob Miller (TMM P2).
